Welcome to the sport of sailing. We hope you enjoy this new experience and go on to become a regular sailing enthusiast.
It is important to dress correctly for any sport and sailing is no exception, and safety is your first consideration. Correct attire will prevent you from exposure to the sun, the effects of the cold and injuries.
For your first few lessons/outings, remember to dress warmly in layers that you can take off if needed. Sailing in Tassie in the winter months will be vastly different to a summer day on the North Queensland coast, so always seek local advice - your sailing club or training centre should be able to give you a good idea of what is appropriate.
For example:
- Shorts, t-shirts, thermals, woollen jumpers
- Hats, headwear, Always wear SUNSCREEN
- Always wear shoes, sailing boots or similar
