The sailing units are able to service regional areas that do not have the infrastructure or number of boats to successfully introduce larger groups to their clubs at one time. Further participation is encourage through contact to a local sailing / boating club. Links between schools and local yacht clubs are also encouraged. Program included through this funding are community sailing days, come'n'try days, Sailability workshops, WOW - Women on Windsurfers.
Schools Teams Racing Links have been formed between schools and yacht clubs throughout Victoria to provide a viable educational and competitive program introducing and teaching sailing skills. Futher promotion of the program will increase participation of schools within zones for social and competitive school sailing. The school program enables experienced students to introduce lesser experienced sailors to the racing environment.
