With six races completed, Bento Amaral (POR) holds a solid 12 point lead over Colin Johanson (RYCV/Docklands Sailability) in the Single Person Dinghy World Championship

The persistent low pressure system which has dominated the weather in Italy continued to be a factor for sailors on day four of racing in the IFDS Single Person Dinghy Worlds and Sabaudia's Cup.

Two races were held in light airs which forced shortening of both races. Complicating racing was a current which was stronger than the wind, occasional downpours, and flotsam deposited by runoff from the rain - but only one waterspout was sighted!

With six races completed, Bento Amaral (POR) holds a solid 12 point lead over Colin Johanson (RYCV/Docklands Sailability) in the World Championship where sailors are using servo-assisted steering and sail trimming systems.  The equipment has held up very well, despite the persistent rain during this regatta.

In the Sabaudia's Cup, four points separate first and second place going into the final day or racing. Zoltan Pegan (AUS) and Karim Din Abdul (SIN) continued their dominance of the fleet.  Pegan, from New South Wales but living in Hungary, has won four out of six races, with two fourth places to add to his score.  Din Abdul has scored one win, coupled with second places and a fifth.
