Personal Flotation Device (PFD) Review

Marine Safety Victoria are conducting a survey of opinions regarding whether and to what extent occupants of boats should be required to wear PFDs (lifejackets).

Yachting Victoria has tasked its Safe Boating Policy Committee to report on this matter and to prepare a draft position for yachting to respond. Any comments from sailors will be welcomed to Yachting Victoria.

So that yachting can have the best impact with its response to MSV we suggest that sailors withhold from responding to the survey until the YV position is clearly established, at which time the support of all Victorian sailors will be sought.
