On behalf of the Board of Yachting Victoria I am pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Walker to the position of CEO of Yachting Victoria. Steve has an excellent background in Sports Management across several sports, including tennis, netball and baseball. He has a degree in Commerce majoring in Sports Management. Steve is currently General Manager Operations, at Netball Victoria and was previously CEO of Tennis New Zealand . He lives in Brighton with a young family. Steve takes over from Ross Kilborn who had been in the role for seven years, and has transferred to Yachting Australia as Sports Development Director. Steve will commence on Monday August 8, and we look forward to introducing him to all our major stakeholders as quickly as possible after that. The Board selection panel consisting of Mark Bradley, Jenni Maclean and I, were supported by sports professional recruitment firm, Sportspeople, and we are all confident that Steve will lead YV’s continuing improvement, as the peak body representing and promoting sailing and clubs in Victoria.
