Election of Yachting Victoria Executive and Nominations – nominations for the Yachting Victoria Executive include current members David Gotze (Royal Brighton Yacht Club) for President and Gary Hosie (Mordialloc Sailing Club) and Rik Arendsen (Sandringham Yacht Club) for executive members.  New nominations include Marilyn O’Brien (Royal Yacht Club of Victoria), Phil Coombs (Sandringham Yacht Club) and Graham Cunningham (Sorrento Sailing and Couta Boat Club). Details of the nominees will be posted on the Yachting Victoria website on September 16 with the annual reports.
Club Conference – The future of yachting in Victoria The annual Yachting Victoria Club Conference will happen on the morning of the AGM (Saturday, September 23 at 9am at SYC). Click here to register – there’s no fee (but there is a late fee of $25 for bookings after September 15).  A draft agenda for the Conference is available by clicking here
Club Survey a copy of the Annual Club Survey is also available by clicking here . In previous years we have only made the survey available to the attendees at the conference – but this year we want maximum input from club officials about how we are doing.
Membership Renewal Time – don’t forget that in the Club Manual there’s a model membership renewal form with appropriate legal conditions. Also this is a great time to capture all your members’ data in MyClub so you can use it for all your newsletter mailings etc.  It’s also the time when all people with MyClub passwords need to renew them! And clubs don’t need to tell Yachting Victoria about their changes in office bearers if they update them in MyClub.
Upcoming Go Sailing day We will have a fresh approach this year to the “Go Sailing Day” scheduled for Sunday, November 12. If your club would like to know more or participate contact swatson@yachtingvictoria.com.au
Upcoming Training Courses for Club Race Officers – 9 & 10 Sept at Chelsea. It’s likely to be the last one before the season. Details from Yachting Victoria’s Heather Cameron (training@yachtingvictoria.com.au), or on our website under training.
